The 2019 Season

Welcome to Grand Island Youth Football! Our organization is one of the fastest growing youth football leagues in central Nebraska. In 2018 we had over 400 participating players and volunteer coaches across our three league divisions, and our numbers continue trending upward. We’re incredibly excited for the 2019 season and are looking forward to another fun and successful season!

We strongly encourage everyone to take their time and explore this site as it is full of current information, FAQ’s, safety standards, online calendar events, league rules, team drafting protocols, league information, schedules, and additional social media offerings to follow.  Registration for the 2019 season is OFFICIALLY CLOSED.

Current schedules, standings, and more information is added weekly, be sure to check it out!

2019 GI Youth Football Playoff Brackets are LIVE!  Take a look at the match-ups, dates, and times.  We expect this year to be extremely competitive, and equally respectful showcasing the fight all true competitors have, but also the sportsmanship expected after the game is over from players, parents and coaches alike.  We worked extremely hard to get the kids an opportunity to play under the lights and hopefully give them a very memorable, fun, and exciting experience.

All championship and runner-up teams will receive medals.  Something new this year is the official GI Youth Blue Collar Trophy.  This trophy will stay with the league, but all championship teams will lay claim to it long enough for team photos which will live on forever in our Gridiron Glory Gallery.  Good luck to ALL!

PLEASE NOTE: It is now permissible to sit on the track, in bag chairs. Please remember to continue to honor the expectations of stadium and turf use;  no liquid or food items beyond that of water is allowed on the turf for any reason.  Stadium seating is only available on the EAST SIDE.  Restrooms will be available under the east stadium, south entrance.  Kids MUST be accompanied by an adult when using those facilities.  We ask parents to please not allow your kids to play on various football equipment in the grassy areas for safety reasons.

Also a reminder about the use of foul language, this will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form.  League directors will ask you to leave should this occur.  Please remember, this is supposed to be fun and help foster a love for the sport of football.  Nobody is playing for a Super Bowl title this season.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Our Mission

learn • grow • compete

The GI Youth Football League is committed to our mission. Our kids will have every opportunity to “Learn” from outstanding coaches, “Grow” in their techniques and abilities, and “Compete” at a high and honorable level.

Our mission is to develop a culture of learning, an understanding of continued growth, and help foster a healthy and respectful attitude to compete at the highest level while playing the game, and the opponent, in an honorable way.

We recognize that competition is a fact of our world, and we support the “scoreboard.” We believe that our greatest growth in life is found in our defeats, never our victories.
